Article by Marc Aupiais
On the 10th "October" "2005", "Rustenberg" "Bishop", "Kevin Dowling", was deemed a "hero" by "Time" magazine, for his direct apposing of the "Vatican". In the article, his stance: that not promoting condoms, was in his opinion: anti-life ("not pro-life") was noted, the "Time" article is linked to by the "Cardinal Newman Society", in their article: ("Cardinal Newman Society" (Catholic; Independent; American) 04 / 05 (May) / 2009). The "Catholic Church", believes that the "Life" of a man and his "Soul" are one, whereby the health of the soul, would be more important than temporary life on earth, according to a line possibly similar to the official reasoning on the condom's ban, in accordance with the biblical ban on condoms ("The sin of Onan").
"Kevin Dowling", a member of the "SACBC" ("Southern African Catholic Bishops' Conference"), has consistently lambasted the "Vatican", from attacking it for apposing the promotion of "Condom" focussed efforts to prevent "HIV/AIDS" spread, to attacking efforts focussing on abstenence, to randomly attacking the "Vatican", via (what "Cardinal Wilfred Napier" of the "Archdiocese of Durban", calls the "Anti-magisterial" 'biased') "Southern Cross", for the implementation of draft liturgical changes by the "SACBC", without "Vatican"consent, before new mass changes were finalized. The "SACBC", later asked the "Vatican" permission to proceed, and churches which went along with the error, continue to have a different "mass" from the rest of the world.
Rather than defend the church, "Bishop" "Kevin Dowling", often chooses to appose it, and promote other causes: via the use of his position as a "Catholic" "Bishop". Where other "Bishops" in "Southern Africa", apologized for the error of implimenting a draft, but defended the long term decision by the "Vatican" to change the wording of the "Novus Order" "mass", "Dowling" chose to attack a decision of the "Vatican" (having already apposed it on "Condoms" and such), it was not the only time he had used his position to spread disobedience to "Pope" "Benedict XVI", and his predecessor "Pope" "John Paul II", but just one of the many times he has spread dissent against the "Vatican".
"Jesuit" run "University of California", like several other organizations, has decided to honour this obscure "Bishop", of an even more obscure "Diocese", on the 22 May 2009, according to the "Cardinal Newman Society" (a laity initiative which claims to promote fidelity to the church). "Rustenburg" "Bishop" "Kevin Dowling", will be sharing the stage, along with: "Kamala D. Harris", "District Attorney" of "San Francisco": a "gay activist": known for apposing the successful "Proposition 8" which outlawed "Gay Marriage" in California".
According to the "Cardinal Newman Society", along with many independent sources:
"Over the past few months, many U.S. bishops have reasserted the 2004 U.S. bishops conference statement, “Catholics in Political Life” in their opposition to Notre Dame’s planned honor for pro-abortion President Barack Obama. The statement reads: “The Catholic community and Catholic institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles. They should not be given awards, honors or platforms which would suggest support for their actions.”"
